Love our house... it's our home. But curb appeal is not it's strong point :) So this weekend I decided I'd try to help it out a bit (and yes, we've lived in this house since '05... why didn't I update it sooner!?!?) My project this weekend was focused on the porch light, house number, and mailbox.

And this ugly thing. The more I looked at it, the more I didn't want to refinish it... it's going to the curb- along with its four friends! And don't worry- that's an old nest behind the light- no baby birds were harmed.
Priming the numbers and mailbox...
And the finish- Rust-Oleum Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze (dark dark brownish finish with a little bit of shimmer).
And yes, I even sprayed the screws. After doing this project, I want to spray Rust-Oleum on everything!
Oh, and that surprise!!
(It actually photographed brighter than it is... if you've seen my living room accent wall- that's the color orange)
More of that to come later... ;)
Can't wait for my next project(s)...
curb appeal, here we come!

Nice! So you used the Rust-Oleum primer, and then the Rust-Oleum paint?
Yup, I primed it with a Rust-Oleum primer and then used their metallic spray for the finish. What an easy fix!! I want to spray everything now :)
I think I'm going to give it a shot! I bet you could use the Rust-Oleum on other items. Our outside door is pretty icky too, haha.
You should, Heather- it's super easy!
